Happy "9th" Birthday Aubrey Ann!

Today is my beautiful granddaughter's "9th" Birthday. Happy Birthday Aubrey! You are such a blessing in my life!!

Restoring Honor Rally in D.C.

My son Taylor and I went to Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor Rally" this weekend. We flew into Philadelphia and my wonderful cousin Danny took us to D.C.. It was a lot of fun and very inspiring. Glenn's main message at the rally was that our country has forgotten God and that we need to turn back to Him. That it takes all of us to do our part. That one person can make a huge difference in the world. He also focused on the 3 values of Faith, Hope, and Charity. There were SO many people there. News estimates are saying around 500,000 attended. Many families came from across the nation. If you are interested in seeing the rally C-Span recorded it. I had never been to D.C. before. We rode the subway for the first time. We saw the Lincoln Memorial, The Washington Monument, The White House and few others sites. I wish we could have seen more but we ran out of time and I was so exhausted from all the walking we did. I was happy that we got to spend a little time with my cousin Danny and his family and I really appreciate their hospitality. Thanks Danny! I wouldn't have been able to go without your help. You're the Best!!

Charles J. Smith Passes Away

I'm sad to announce that my father in law, Charles Smith, passed away on May 14, 2010. I know he is happy to finally be reunited with Pat. He was a wonderful man and we will miss him.

Austin's Senior Prom

I can't believe that Austin is about to graduate! Last night he went to the Prom with some of his friends from school. Austin was handsome in his tuxedo and his date was stunning in her beautiful green dress. They all went to dinner and then the dance at the Art Museum in a limo. I re-stained our stairs!

I re-stained our stairway. It took me about a month of working at it a little at a time. For those of you who don't know how they looked before, they were a light oak. I'm into the more modern dark woods. It was a lot of hard work- (sanding and re-staining around all those posts) and making it look even. I wanted to get it done before we got our new carpet and I am glad I did. I got a lot of drips on the carpet like I thought I might.

Wow, "29" years! It seems like only yesterday when you were a tiny bundle in my arms and now you are a wonderful mother with children of your own. You have been such a blessing in my life. I love you so much and hope you have a wonderful birthday!!
