I re-stained our stairs!

I re-stained our stairway. It took me about a month of working at it a little at a time. For those of you who don't know how they looked before, they were a light oak. I'm into the more modern dark woods. It was a lot of hard work- (sanding and re-staining around all those posts) and making it look even. I wanted to get it done before we got our new carpet and I am glad I did. I got a lot of drips on the carpet like I thought I might.

Cheesecake Factory!!

When I was visiting my daughter Holly and her family we made a special trip to the Cheesecake Factory. We surprised my granddaughters. They had never been before and were so excited when we pulled into the parking lot.

Here we are ready to go eat some yummy cheesecake!

While we were waiting to be seated, the girls were trying to decide which cake they wanted (So many choices!)The girls and I both decided to get their 30th anniversary chocolate cheesecake.

"Wicked" in San Antonio

My daughter Holly took me to see the Broadway play "Wicked" in San Antonio. It was my first Broadway play. I loved it!! If you ever get the chance to go you should. It is wonderful!!

Kyle Adams Memorial Golf Tournament

A little over 3 years ago my 17 year old nephew Kyle Adams (#8 above) was killed in a auto accident. We were all devastated. He was a wonderful young man and we all miss him very much. Every year around this time there is a Kyle Adams Memorial Golf Tournament in remembrance of him. A lot of our family members got together a couple of weekends ago at my brother Kenny and his wife, Karen's (Kyle's parents) house to remember Kyle and to enjoy each others company. Kenny had a fish fry for all of us on Friday night out by the pool. The food was delicious. We had a surprise birthday/missionary farewell for my nephew Colson Healy. He will be entering the M.T.C. later this month. He will be serving in the Monterrey Mexico Mission. We're proud of you Colson! Saturday morning most of the men participated in the memorial golf tournament. My brother Kenny has a beautiful pool and the kids spent most of their time in it. Me and my boys went with Holly and the girls to the Kemah Boardwalk while the men golfed. We ate at an Aquarium Restaurant. (Cool!) Since we missed Cali's birthday a week earlier, she got to open her presents from Grandma and Grandpa. Later that day the kids had an Easter Egg hunt. On Sunday we all watched General Conference and had lunch and homemade ice cream (a General Conference family tradition) before we had to leave to come home. I wish we could have stayed longer! Thanks Kenny, Karen, and Kelley for having us and giving us all an opportunity to get together as a family to remember Kyle. We had a wonderful time!!

Easter Wishes!

San Antonio Tea Party with Glenn Beck!!

Glenn Beck announced a couple of days ago that he is going to be airing his T.V. show from the Tea Party in San Antonio on Wed. April 15th. I am so excited! I am planning on driving up and letting my voice be heard. Abraham Lincoln said it so well: "To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men."

Twilight DVD out this Friday at Midnight!!

Finally, this Friday night is the DVD release of Twilight. I'll be there for the excitement and to get my very own copy of "Twilight" that I can watch whenever I want. Some friends of mine are having a Twilight release party on Saturday and invited me. Should be fun. I can't wait!!!

I Joined the Gym!!

Last month I joined "Freedom Fitness" I figured since I usually just sleep in the car when the boys are in Seminary (6 a.m every weekday) that I might as well join a gym that is open that early in the morning and use that time wisely. I have been pretty faithful and have lost about 10 pounds so far. I am feeling stronger already. They have a 30 minute cardio circuit training program that I do every other day. They have this really neat Eliptical machine that I do the other days. I am so glad that I joined. It has really helped to motivate me to lose some weight and I feel much healthier!!

I saw this on lds.org and thought it was really neat. The church has put short video clips on YouTube. What a wonderful way to introduce people to the gospel!

Barack Obama Promises to sign FOCA

Obama made a public announcement that he is going to sign the Freedom Of Choice Act, which will allow all types of abortions including partial birth abortions, also allowing babies who are born alive due to botched up late term abortions, to be set aside without any medical care or nourishment and left to die (most of these babies have no medical problems and most of the ones that do, have things like cleft palates, club feet, things that are correctable, still they are murdered in the most cruel and inhuman way. They feel everything that is happening to them. There is more mercy for dogs that are put to sleep) This Bill also will make it mandatory for doctors and nurses to perform this murderous act even if they do not want to do so. This act also allows under age teens to have an abortion, even partial birth abortions, without parental consent.

Catholic Bishops have pleaded with Obama not to go ahead with this horrible murder of innocent babies. They have also told Obama that if he persists in signing this Bill which would require even Catholic Hospitals to perform these acts of murder, they will have no choice but to close all Catholic Hospitals. Please let us join with these courageous Bishops who will go to any length to change Obama's mind. Please take a minute to sign this statement and let our voices be heard.

"Glen Beck on Fox News"

I love Glenn Beck. I used to watch him on HNN but am so excited he is on Fox News now. Last week was his first week on Fox. I have my DVR set to tape it everyday at 4:00 and watch it later that evening when I get a chance. I am sort of a political junkie and he keeps me up with all the latest things that are happening. When I first started watching him I thought he was a little strange but he has grown on me. He has a DVD called "Glenn Beck, An Unlikely Mormon." My sister Cindy posted about it the other day. She says it is really good. I think I will get a copy. Anyways, check him out on Fox News!!
